Flora Tabanelli is one of the brightest new names in freestyle skiing — a bold talent who continues to push the limits of what’s possible on snow.
Originally from Sestola and raised in Val di Fassa, she trained at the renowned Ski College in Pozza di Fassa alongside her brother Miro, himself a top-level freestyle skier. Tabanelli made her mark early, becoming only the second Italian woman to reach a World Cup podium in freestyle skiing after Silvia Bertagna, with a third-place finish in Beijing on December 2, 2023 — just her third appearance on the circuit.
In January 2024, she had the honor of carrying the Italian flag at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon. She didn’t disappoint, winning two gold medals in both Slopestyle and Big Air. Her rapid progression continued into 2025, when on January 10 she claimed her first World Cup victory in Big Air at Kreischberg, again joining Bertagna in the history books as only the second Italian to do so.
Later that month, she made even more history by becoming the first Italian athlete to win gold at the Winter X Games in Big Air – a feat her brother Miro also achieved, making the Tabanelli brothers a true force in the sport. Just a few weeks later, on February 22, Flora added another milestone: winning the Slopestyle event in Stoneham.
Her incredible season didn’t stop there. At the 2025 World Championships in Engadin, she struck gold in the Big Air event and narrowly missed a second medal in Slopestyle, placing fourth by just a few points. To top it all off, Flora finished the 2024/25 season by winning the World Cup Big Air title and claiming the overall Freeski Park & Pipe World Cup crystal globe — the first Italian ever to win the overall freestyle title.
