Miro Tabanelli made his international debut on February 2, 2020, at a FIS event in Kleinwalsertal, and just over a year later, he captured bronze at the 2021 Junior World Championships in Krasnoyarsk. That same month, on March 5, he celebrated his first European Cup victory in Götschen, signaling his readiness for the next level.
Miro stepped onto the World Cup stage on December 16, 2022, in Copper Mountain, where he impressed with a 12th-place finish and earned World Cup points in his debut. A few months later, he competed at his first senior World Championships in Bakuriani, with an 18th-place finish in Big Air as his best result. Exactly one year after his World Cup debut – on December 16, 2023, again in Copper Mountain – Miro reached his first World Cup podium, finishing just two points behind winner Mac Forehand in an incredibly tight competition.
His breakthrough moment came on March 13, 2025, when he won the World Cup Big Air event in Tignes – becoming the first Italian man to win a World Cup event in freestyle skiing. In the same season, he further established himself among the world’s elite, highlighted by his historic X Games Aspen 2025 gold medal, where he became the first athlete ever to land a 2340 (6½ rotations) in Big Air competition at the event.
The 2025/2026 season marked a defining step in Miro’s career. He confirmed his status as one of the most complete athletes on the circuit, consistently competing at the highest level in both Big Air and Slopestyle. The highlight of his season came with a historic World Cup Slopestyle victory, making him the first Italian athlete ever to win a Slopestyle World Cup event. This result further cemented his place in freestyle skiing history and confirmed his ability to win across multiple disciplines at the very top level.
With his landmark victories and constant progression, Miro continues to shape a new era for Italian freeskiing. Alongside his sister Flora Tabanelli, he is helping establish the Tabanelli name as one of the most influential in the sport’s new generation.
